Web-Oriented Application Developer

Job Description

Serotek is seeking a versatile application developer, with a focus on cross-platform Web-based applications, to join our small, distributed team. You will be involved with many aspects of product development, such as planning, user interface design, implementation, and troubleshooting escalated problems.

Skills and Requirements

As a small, lean company, we are looking for a developer who is not boxed into a particular programming language, framework, operating system, tool set, or way of thinking. Nonetheless, we currently require a developer with strong skills in these areas:

• Python Web application development
• JavaScript and jQuery for rich client-side functionality
• Designing Web applications for universal accessibility; must routinely test applications with real assistive technologies
• Resilient, scalable Web application architecture

Previous experience with the following is a plus:

• Django or Pyramid
• HTML5 features such as audio/video, local storage, or offline applications
• Converting a legacy PHP code base to clean, well-structured Python
• Native mobile application development for iOS or Android
• Developing Linux-based or FreeBSD-based server appliances
• Native desktop application development for Windows or Mac OS X
